Bravo finally paid up!
Last week, the news broke that Leah McSweeney was holding out on returning to The Real Housewives of New York City after she was only offered a "minuscule" pay rise for the upcoming thirteenth season. The NY rookie demanded more money to come back for season two and it looks like she got it - and then some.
According to Page Six, Leah will be returning to the show for her second season after Bravo upped her pay from $3k an episode to $10k an episode, meaning if there is another season of 20 episodes she'll make $200k rather than the $60k she made for her first season. This is a huge pay rise and luckily Leah played hardball with the network because she deserves every penny.
Leah confirmed she would be back for season 13 on Instagram after telling a fan her work on the show isn't done yet. The outlet also claimed Leah's costars also got an increase in their salaries, adding that the entire cast was given “the standard wage increase.”
The show is set to begin taping soon with the ladies being forced to follow strict COVID-19 restrictions which includes getting tested for the virus multiple times a week, quarantining, and filming on "closed sets" with no extras. Basically, if they're filming at a restaurant, nobody else can be there. Let's see how well Ramona Singer follows these guidelines...
Ramona, Luann de Lesseps, and Sonja Morgan are also set to return to the franchise. TMZ recently reported that the show's first African American Housewife Bershan Shaw is also rumored to be joining the existing women. She's a business coach, actress, motivational speaker, and a 2-time breast cancer survivor.
I'm pumped for the new season and so excited that New York will FINALLY have a black woman in the mix! Season 13 here we go!
