RHOD Finale Recap: Last Chance To Run
I just finished watching the season 2 finale and my jaw dropped all the way to the floor. These Dallas girls really delivered everything and went out with a bang that is making me question how they could ever move forward.
Bravo treated us with a supersized episode so there is a lot to talk about. In short, Stephanie is building her home that Travis bought and they are covering that goddamn ugly pool. Brandi's doctor told her that she can have another baby but it should probably be in the next 6 months to a year. Kameron got her dog food into a retail store and while all these girls were closing up their storylines Cary was being gifted with a birkin to hide her skeletons next too.
LeeAnne and Rich threw a carnival themed engagement party and she invited her mom into town for the event. I was expecting LeeAnne's mom to be like a Disney villain but when she opened the door a cute little old lady came walking through. Totally not what I expected but looks can be deceiving. LeeAnne filled us in (again) that her mother left her to live with her grandparents and that she would only see her mom in the summer to work on the carnival. After a lifetime of never having an authentic conversation with her mother, LeeAnne decided to let her therapist help with their issues. They sat down and LeeAnne's mother explained for the first time that she always wanted her and always loved her but she wanted the best for her and that wasn't living with her. I can't believe that was the first time she's heard that. LeeAnne has gone 50 YEARS walking through life feeling abandoned and that no one would love her so to hear that she was wanted must of felt amazing. I can't get over the years they would of saved if they had this conversation earlier, but everything happens for a reason.
From one mother/ daughter issue to another. D'Andra had to find the courage to face Momma Dee and tell her that they were missing the ingredient L22 in her new product. Well Dee flipped out and D'Andra blamed herself. It wasn't her fault that they ingredient literally couldn't come. However Dee used this time to give D'Andra the keys to the business, which is the reason she moved back all those years ago. I was over the moon to see D'Andra get what she wanted but the credits at the end crushed my excitement because Dee hasn't full relinquished the reigns to the company just yet.
While LeeAnne and D'Andra were dealing with their mama drama, Brandi, Cary and Stephanie were having a lunch that seemed to be all about Miss Locken. Cary and Steph were giving Brandi an intervention because they thought that her calling Cary the nanny was being encouraged by her new friend LeeAnne. I'm a bit confused because LeeAnne said she had no idea that Cary was the nanny, and wouldn't she of said that last year if she knew?
Brandi took accountability for the nanny comment but said it was a retaliation to Cary saying she didn't want to be friends with them. Somehow Cary managed to blame THAT on LeeAnne as well. They showed us a flashback of LeeAnne saying that is ruins their reputation when Brandi and Steph play with dildos - but Cary still said what she said on her own. But I would of been pissed if someone was talking trash with me and then repeated it back to other people. When Brandi heard that it was "LeeAnne's fault" she told Cary and Steph that LeeAnne was telling her not to be friends with them. I don't understand how 3 grown ass women can blame someone else for their drama and then go back to being friends. Am I crazy? Literally every single problem that occurred they blamed on LeeAnne. There is one word for that: deflection!
Although three of the girls were waging a war against LeeAnne they all attended her engagement party. The party was so pretty it was like a chic carnival, go LeeAnne! Cary and Mark rocked up but it was obvious that Mark would of rather spent his night at the Roundup. D'Andra delivered a heartfelt speech about her BFF LeeAnne. These two are true friends, they both understand and respect each other and I don't ever want to see these two fighting, if they do I might cry. Towards the end of the party LeeAnne and Brandi were talking about their evolving friendship and LeeAnne JOKED that she would slit her neck if she turned on her and Brandi laughed because that is what people do after someone tells a joke.
Can I just say that I love Rich and LeeAnne! Even though Rich was in the police force for 20 years, that didn't even come close to prepare him for LeeAnne Locken. Thank god Rich is a good, faithful man because I would not want to be on the receiving end of a scorned LeeAnne.
I've never heard of an engagement brunch. I don't know if it's a southern thing or a D'Andra thing but it was over before it started! On the way there Brandi told Steph about LeeAnne's joke the night before and they took it so seriously. Can they stop with this acting, I mean, I thought these two were the ones that thought everything was funny and tickled people with dildos and now they are scared by LeeAnne's joke. UGH! All the girls arrived to the brunch and the all looked SNATCHED, expect Stephanie who was wearing a christmas brooch. The conversation quickly turned to Cary and LeeAnne's contentious relationship but Miss Locken assured them that she never thinks or talks about her which set the resident redhead right off! Brandi exploded saying that LeeAnne didn't want her to rekindle her friendship with Stephanie which Bravo supported with unjustified flashbacks. All the flashbacks they showed never said that she didn't want to be her friend. LeeAnne barely got a word out before all three girls walked out leaving LeeAnne speechless for the first time ever. The bride to be started crying and I was in awe of how quickly Brandi and LeeAnne's relationship went to shit.
Bravo spilled the tea on everything that has happened since filming wrapped. D'Andra's mom is still running the company, Cary got a new birkin, Kameron's dog food is on shelves, Stephanie is still renovating, Brandi is still trying to get pregnant and LeeAnne is having more therapy ahead of her summer wedding. The reunion airs next week but I don't know how these girls can move forward. They don't really seem to like each other and the lines have been drawn so deep it's hard to see how they can move on. However I'm sure as soon as the Bravo pay checks for season 3 go out that they will start wanting to move forward.
The Real Housewives of Dallas airs reunion Monday at 10/9c on Bravo. Stay tuned at Good Tea for our shady recaps and exclusive tea on the lone star ladies.
