Stassi Schroeder Breaks Silence For First Time Since Vanderpump Rules Firing

PHOTO: Bravo

The basic bitch is finally back in the spotlight!

Back in June, Stassi Schroeder was fired from Vanderpump Rules for her past racist behavior just days before she announced she was pregnant with her first child. After some time to "reflect" she made her first public appearance on The Tamron Hall Show on Thursday.

It's only been a few months since we've seen Stassi on our TVs and just hearing her voice again made me realize how annoying she actually is. I really have no desire to watch her on Bravo, ever again. It's great that she "learned" some things about systemic racism, but it's all too little, too late.

When asked about the scandal, Stassi explained she waited this long to speak publically about the matter because she wanted to educate herself before saying anything, so she hired a "diversity coach" who is teaching her about racism. What the fuck is a diversity coach? Can you find them on Yelp? Stassi told Tamron Hall:

“People expected me to just understand everything immediately and things like that take time. And I felt like it would be better for me to take the time to get a greater understanding of everything and the issues before I opened my mouth again. I’m someone who messed up quite a few times. I am the reason why I am in this situation. I think a lot of people wanted me to focus on cancel culture and whether I was a victim or not but it’s not how I feel at all.”

I really think Stassi is just trying to save her ass (and her career) by hiring someone to teach her how not to be racist, but Tamron pressed her for this entire interview, which is exactly what we needed her to do. The ranch obsessed reality star also explained that the hardest part of this entire ordeal is having everyday people think she's a racist, she explained:

“[People thinking I’m racist] has been the hardest part of all this. Just going out to a restaurant and going to the grocery store and wondering if that’s what people think. … I don’t have hate in my heart. But I recognize that I wasn’t anti-racist. That’s something I’ve been learning throughout all of this."

Although this is definitely a strategic PR stunt, I don't think Stassi is a racist. I think she's just an ignorant white girl wrapped up in a ball of white privilege, however, it does seem like she's at least trying to educate herself on why she shouldn't say the things she said.

If you missed it, Stassi was fired from Vanderpump Rules for calling the police on Faith Stowers, the only black person on the show, for a crime she didn't commit. She also made ignorant statements about the "Oscars So White" controversy on her podcast and called one of her outfits "Nazi chic" on Instagram.

When Tamron asked about the controversies, Stassi admitted to being a Karen when complaining about Black people advocating for diversity in Hollywood and explained why both she and her costar, Kristen Doute, called the cops Faith stating:

“The bottom line is there were people that Kristen knew who were texting her. When you’re on a show like Vanderpump Rules, your existence on that show is kind of dependent on sticking your nose in other people’s conflict or creating conflict. … I was completely wrong, but it wasn’t just a photo that we saw.”

Stassi maintained that she wants to be a better person and after Tamron asked her if she was only making these changes to get her career back, the former reality star stated that she's doing it to be a good role model for her future daughter, who she's currently pregnant with. Stassi confessed:

“I want to be a better person. I’m pregnant and I want my daughter to be proud of me and I want to be a part of the solution. I’ve been a part of the problem for years now and I recognize that.”

It's great that Stassi can finally take accountability for her past racist transgressions and realize why they were wrong, however, I still have no interest in watching her life play out on my TV ever again, but I'm sure she'll get a new podcast, write another book and manage to salvage her career because she's basically a cult leader to her obsessed fans.

This apology interview reeks of PR rehearsed lines and although she may finally understand systemic racism on a deeper level now, she definitely only did this interview to get her career back. You can be anti-racist and not have to book a redemption interview for the world to see.
